A little about me; my name is Sarah Christie and I write over Extraordinary Chaos, a UK Craft and Lifestyle blog. I am based in a village not far from Manchester and have a passion for new adventures, travel, theatre, interiors, food and craft.
I have a wonderful husband and two amazing, very active and sporty boys aged 21 and 16 who share my love of life and the new and exciting. Thus we love to share our likes, loves and adventures as life ever changes with a growing chaotic family. And also how Chris and I adapt to life as our boys grow up.
Being a mum is the best job in the world. And one I am so grateful for every day. But it has it’s challenges. Family life is normal not perfect and we should embrace that. Perfect is dull!
Our oldest son also suffers from type 1 diabetes; he was diagnosed at 10 which temporarily turned our lives upside down. But with a great deal of work we now mostly have this under control, although it tends to throw us a challenge every now and then.
Why I Started My ABC Colouring Website
I didn’t discover I was dyslexic until I was at University, this I am sure is because my creativity got me through and I adopted strategies that meant no teachers ever picked up that I was struggling.
One of these strategies was relating topics to colour and subjects that excited me, this was something I adopted when our boys were little to help them engage with books and reading. Reading is a passion of mine, and I so wanted them to feel the same.
This made me realise that if you use passion subjects, like holidays, seasons, ballet or football children who may struggle engage with the topic rather than feeling bogged down by education. I so hope this helps others to engage with learning too.
I am a mad crafter and work alongside Cricut as a Uk Cricut Craft Blogger. A role I am crazy about, I adore all things crafty and could lose hours in the Cricut Design Space designing new things to make.
Here you can follow my latest family meals, cake, slimming world and cocktail recipes.
When I first got married I had no idea how to cook, my cooking skills are a product of years of practice with many cooking disasters. However my love of food and determination fuelled me to persevere and master cooking as a concept. I still make many mistakes, some recipes take a few attempts until I am happy and they make it onto these pages.
However this proves that if we have the desire anyone can cook and I am here to help you with that. With my “If I can cook them, any one can recipes” Being a good cook is just about having the ability to follow a recipe.

My core trade is hairdressing, and I worked as a teacher for many years teaching level 3, bridal and avant garde hair. However I left teaching to work on my blog.
